Professor John Alexander McDermid is an academic staff member and Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of York. His research interests include safety-critical systems, safety engineering, safety of autonomy and robotics, impact of cyber security on safety, and software engineering for high integrity systems. He has held roles such as Head of Department and Director of the Assuring Autonomy International Programme.
