Dimitris Samaras is a SUNY Empire Innovation Professor and Director of the Computer Vision Lab at Stony Brook University. His research focuses on explaining visual data for computer vision, computer graphics, and medical image analysis through physical and statistical models, with interests in 3D shape and illumination interaction, non-rigid motion, human modeling, and machine learning for brain image analysis.
